We currently have exciting opportunities for Permanent Manufacturing Team Members on site.

Kimberly-Clark is the world’s premier tissue manufacturer and the company behind the market leading consumer brands Huggies®, Kleenex®, and Andrex®. Much of this success is largely due to the people behind our products – namely our 41,000 employees worldwide. Our manufacturing facility at Barrow-in-Furness is responsible for the production of tissue products, including Andrex and Kleenex. The site is currently benefiting from investment in new equipment and upgrades and this now provides the following opportunities for enthusiastic and experienced individuals to join our manufacturing teams.

The role involves operating and sustaining the core converting and manufacturing assets within our Manufacturing Process,

in order to optimise overall production performance.

The Principal Accountabilities:


  • Ensures that safety and environmental standards are observed and improved upon
  • Ensures Safety Targets met
  • Has an understanding of Emergency procedures
  • Follows safe operating procedures and work instructions
  • Maintains the 3 safety obligations at all times
  • To report unsafe conditions using site systems (Accident/Incident/Hazards)


  • Network with appropriate teams on other shifts to maximise overall effectiveness
  • Develop diagnostic and corrective expertise that ensures rapid resolution of problems
  • All duties will be carried out in accordance with documented quality systems/procedures operated by the Company.

Asset Performance

  • Monitors performance of the asset to optimise productivity
  • Contributes to shift activities with other teams to ensure optimum use of resources and cross fertilisation of good ideas
  • Participates in work on shift to ensure financial, customer service, volume and quality targets are met
  • Ensures asset operational records are completed accurately and on time


  • Ensure that housekeeping standards are understood and carried out
  • Set expectations (tour ready) and ensure they are met
  • Complete housekeeping audits (including GMP) and take ownership of issue resolution


  • Effective shift handovers and communications
  • Liaise with team to develop understanding of site and business priorities

The successful candidate will require a minimum of GSCE’s Grades A-C or equivalent, including Mathematics and English. Desirable criteria would be a time served electrical/mechanical apprentice to NVQ Level 3 and ideally qualified or working towards HNC. Experience of operating high speed technologically and advanced manufacturing equipment would be needed along with knowledge of manufacturing operations. Individuals would need to be prepared to work shifts and additional hours if required.

Barrow-in-Furness is a town and borough located in Cumbria, North West England. And is just on the door step of the wonderful Lake District with plenty of sites, walks and activities to get involved in.

Working at Barrow Mill:

When joining Kimberly Clark as an MTM you will be part of a shift team that works closely together over the course of the shift pattern. You will have exposure to different aspects of paper making and converting which will show the production of the premium products. This role is available for local candidates already authorised to work in the roles country only. Kimberly-Clark will not provide relocation for this role
