The Role*
We are looking for an entry level Corporate Accounting Assistant to join our Corporate Reporting team. Therefore this vacancy would suit a graduate looking for an entry level role to gain experience for a 15 month fixed term contract. The role will largely centre around processing invoices and expenses, performing reconciliation for corporate bank accounts, preparing reports for senior management and liaising with auditors.
Key responsibilities include:
Accounts payable:

  • Processing a high volume of invoices using the accounting system Navision
  • Dealing with staff expenses and company credit cards
  • Raising and processing payment requests via cheque, chaps and bacs
  • Double entry bookkeeping of invoices in the accounting system
  • Liaising with suppliers on a daily basis regarding payments
  • Providing Heads of Departments with departmental cost reports and invoice copies
  • Keeping track of aged creditors and stale cheques

General Corporate Reporting team tasks:

  • Assisting the accountants with the monthly variance analysis of costs
  • Preparing daily bank reconciliations for 27 corporate bank accounts
  • Petty cash and inter-company reconciliations
  • Preparing reviews of the corporate cash balances, and of the interest received on the corporate bank accounts
  • Providing general support in a busy finance department

Requirements*
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent with good MS Excel skills. The position requires an individual with excellent communication skills, and the ability to deal with suppliers and staff at all levels in the company. They should have a “can do” attitude, be able to work well under pressure, and have excellent attention to detail. The role requires a quick learner with a positive attitude who is keen to join a busy team and learn about numerous areas of a successful business.
