37 hours per week

Temporary contract up to 24 months for training completion

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and flexible individual to join our busy IMT Service Desk team as an Information Management & Technology Apprentice.

The role involves a high level of customer contact, as the IMT Service Desk is the primary point of contact for users to report incidents, service requests and make other enquiries. You will be required to obtain appropriate and useful information from the customer over the telephone effectively, accurately and in a timely manner, to assist in the timely resolution of their request.

You will need to have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, providing an efficient and effective IMT incident recording and routing service for customers which include NCC Members, Chief Officers, NCC staff, and users from partner organisations.

Candidates must have excellent customer service skills and have the ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of customers from different services and IMT colleagues, while working in a pressurised environment.

You should also be highly motivated to begin a career in IT, with a strong interest in technology and the ability to balance the necessary learning and project work elements of the apprenticeship alongside your work on the Service Desk.

This post is temporary for a period of up to 24 months to enable completion of level 3 or 4 of Apprenticeship training*. It is expected that the postholder would not normally take longer than 12 - 18 months to complete this level. The post is full time with provision to attend the training provided including revision and assessments. The initial starting grade is D and the post holder competency and course achievements will be reviewed after 12 - 18 months with potential of grade moving to E.
