Job Purpose: - Development of the IT strategy and function including all hardware, communication and information systems and software, internet technology, disaster recovery, document imaging and telephony. - Drive innovative and creative thinking with senior colleagues challenging inefficient, duplicate and waste processes. Lead on appropriate innovation projects defining and implementing IT strategies as required. - Data Integration - using industry leading tools to create data exchange capability between internal systems and external parties, as well as contributing to the global data lake. - Ensure the Business Information Team (BIS) provide the capability and capacity to access, share and use data effectively – implementing new ways of working and cultural change. - Deliver a reliable stable IT platform and business systems environment for all Company IT systems and ensure systems adapt to meet the ever changing needs of the business whilst providing security of data, network access and backup systems. - Ensure that the organisation has robust operational BIS & IT procedures and policies that reflect best practice of the highest standard, ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements and protect against risks of unauthorised access to data, data loss and loss of service due to malicious activity or major incident. - Audit systems and procedures and assess outcomes. Identify problematic areas and implement solutions as required. - Responsibility for GDPR and Information Security within the organisation. Provide expertise on Company systems and work closely with outsourced IT providers and operational teams, managing relationships to ensure SLA's are met and the targeted productivity improvements are obtained. - Lead the Information Technology team in Programme/Project Management, Architecture, Account Management, Information Security, Service Management and IT Engineering adopting Continuous Service Improvement processes and working practices to deliver an end to end 1st in class service. - Take ownership of all the IT operations ‘run’ activities for hosted services on the internal and external platforms including cloud infrastructure, Operating Systems and tooling providing a scalable reliable & stable set of platforms for Business units’ service consumption. - To monitor, evaluate and review IT contracts to ensure they meet the demands of the business and stakeholder expectations. - Accountable for the definition and on-going maintenance of the operational guidelines for routine tasks of IT operations (standard operating procedures) and ensure that all operational routine tasks are performed in time and to the expected quality. - Ensure systems are in place across all work activities to minimise exposure to adverse events so that dnata’s people, reputation and financial position are not put at unnecessary risk, productivity is improved and non-productive activity is stopped. - Work in collaboration with the Finance Team and end users on developing robust Procurement & Vendor Management processes including contract management. - Manage annual budget of the IT Department and ensure cost effectiveness. - Promote good practice around the use of IT systems, technology and digital communication (e.g. Facebook) around the business. - To undertake any other duties as required by management, commensurate with the grade of the post.
Qualifications & Experience: - Experience of working at Director/C Suite level and Six-Sigma practitioner preferred. - Comprehensive knowledge of Networking, Telephony fixed line, mobile and Server technology – particularly Windows based, End-user devices, including mobile, tablet and desktop - especially those related to Windows and Database technologies – especially MS SQL Server and working knowledge of Oracle. - Cloud computing. - A broad range of “office” software technologies – especially Microsoft and technologies which can underpin and support it e.g. Mimecast. - IT Security best practice and its practical implementation. - Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis. - Excellent strategic agility/vision – able to set short- and long-term strategy and translate it into actions and achievements. - Broad experience with in-depth knowledge in Service Management Execution in Global Matrixed environment. - Pragmatic with abilities to structure, conduct and facilitate analytical problem solving and to manage change management projects. - Excellent leadership, teamworking and influencing skills with proven abilities to build trust and commitment through coaching and people management.
