Welding Engineer (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time) Location: Hybrid - Office/Site/Home Closing Date: Friday 17th September 2021 The opportunity:
An opportunity to join Zurich Engineering UK as a Welding Engineer. You will be responsible for the management and support of fee-earning welding engineering projects ensuring governance and technical standards is adhered to at all times.
This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Key Responsibilities:
Work to technical quality and professional standards.
Carry out work as part of technical engineering projects and research to optimise performance.
Continuously develop business relationships to support the Welding Engineering & certification business.
Promote positive customer perception of Engineering services in the UK.
Ensures The department maintains the UKAS accreditation - ensuring any improvement actions are satisfied on time.
Supports the development of technical materials/documents for technical staff and customers.
Ensures risk assessments and safe systems of work are adhered to.
Ensures compliance with technical standards and quality systems with technical discipline.
Work undertaken within agreed service standards.
Compliance with Health and Safety Policies, technical standards and quality systems within technical discipline.
Produce accurate project costings & resources required for projects and manage projects to ensure profitability.
Work undertaken within agreed services standards.
Manage projects to operate profitably within budget constraints.
Provide input into performance management discussions of project team members
Provide education, guidance and support for team members.
Your skills and experience:
HNC Fab & Welding or equivalent
Possess I Eng status with Engineering Council
Experience in welding or a welding environment
Have a comprehensive knowledge of ISO & ASME welder & welding & brazing procedure approval standards
Knowledge of pressure equipment & other application standards for welding fabrications
Have IWT / EWT qualification as a minimum
Team focused & willing to support team manager in their duties
Experience in dealing with clients via electronic / telephone and face to face communication
Have a full driving licence
Be willing to travel as required UK wide
Customer centric outlook
Familiar with ISO 3834 quality system
Hold CSWIP visual inspection of welds qualification
Experience in reviewing radiographs
Experience in laboratory assessment of destructive weld specimens
The salary offered for this role is between £32,000 and £40,000 depending on experience. As well as this we offer an excellent lifestyle benefits package which includes:
