When you close your eyes at night, you dream in Instagram grids. You’re an experienced Social Media Manager, with not just an extensive knowledge, but a deep love of all things social.

And we do mean all things. Whatever the channel, whatever its potential, you know all about it. We’re talking TikTok and Twitter. Instagram and Snapchat. If there’s a new feature, you’re using it. New channel? You’re on it. Even if Myspace made a surprise reappearance tomorrow, you’d be the first to know. (After Tom, obviously.)

You know all there is to know about social media, how it fits into wider digital marketing – and you can convey all that knowledge to clients. You get them excited about what’s possible, and you make it happen – delivering successful campaigns and always-on content.

Who are we?

We’re Stafford Long, an employer communications agency with a difference. We’re built like a tight-knit boutique agency, with expert in-house teams to deliver creative, film, research, and always-on social media. At the same time though, we’re part of a global business: our parent company is Penna, and we’re both part of the worldwide Adecco Group – based at their swishy offices in Spitalfields. It means we can pull on all kinds of specialisms within sister companies to help our clients, whether it’s performance media or candidate assessment. So we’re independently creative – but we’re incredibly resourceful too.

Never worked in recruitment advertising? It’s like any other form of advertising you’ve worked in before. We make integrated campaigns. We plan social media content and campaigns. We grow brand awareness. But instead of selling a product, we’re selling careers and lifestyles. Bring social media experience from any sector, and you’ll quickly find you’ve got transferable skills, best-practice knowledge and outside perspective our clients will really value.

About the role

First things first: it’ll be hands-on. You’ll be responsible for daily performance monitoring and optimisation to meet client goals. You’ll provide campaign updates and consultancy to our clients, educating on best practice and new ideas. And you’ll work with teams across the agency to deliver exceptional integrated campaigns, impeccable media planning, and insightful always-on activity. It’s a lot to take on, but you’ll take it all in stride – and take real pride in making sure that everything we do, from the shortest tweet to the longest-running campaign, is the best it can possibly be.

Speaking of which, you’ll always be striving to strengthen our team’s performance. Collaborating with the Performance Media team at our parent company Penna, you’ll explore opportunities to expand our offering in the social and digital space. Particularly, you’ll bring a clear understanding of the broad range of objectives that can be achieved through paid social activity – and you’ll help us harness every opportunity to build our offering there.

What you need

First and foremost, you’re a thoroughly pleasant human being and enjoy the company of other thoroughly pleasant human beings. But what else do we need?

  • Social media expertise: that includes both organic and paid social, covering strategy, optimisation, and implementation of always-on management and campaigns
  • Relationship skills: both internally and externally, you’ll strive to collaborate and build relationships of trust
  • Creative expertise across social media: best practices, trends, dos and don’ts
  • Experience: you have previous experience working within an agency (or in-house equivalent). You run social media campaigns end-to-end from brief through to wash up, and you’ve managed social media clients with cross-channel strategies: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn & Twitter are essential
  • Social media tool knowledge, including advertising and marketing technology
  • Deep client understanding: you can identify, meet, and exceed client needs and KPIs
  • Paid social experience: you can activate campaigns designed to increase followers, impressions, engagement, positive conversations, as well as clicks and applications
