The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is the estate expert for Defence, supporting the armed forces to enable military capability by planning, building, maintaining, and servicing infrastructure.

Our responsibilities include:
  • Plan and deliver major capital projects and lifecycle refurbishment
  • Provide utilities services
  • Manage soft facilities management (i.e. cleaning and catering)
  • Provide a safe place to train
  • Allocate Service Families Accommodation
  • Procure and manage routine maintenance and reactive repair
  • Provide central register of asset information to advise infrastructure planning
  • Act as steward of the Defence estate
  • Provide the unarmed guarding service

Job description

The Challenge

We are seeking a dedicated diligent candidate to become part of our small team in Lisburn, delivering administration support to our DIO colleagues and customers working alongside our Industry Partners.

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

  • Initiate and activate online applications with the National Security Vetting (NSV) Agency for the delivery of Counter Terrorism Checks (CTC) for Contractors needing to gain access to Military Establishments in Northern Ireland.
  • Using the CLARITY system, book hire and pool cars for DIO staff when required.
  • Procurement of PPE equipment for all DIO staff based in Northern Ireland.
  • Booking travel for group bookings.
  • Provision of Stationary including printer and copier consumables.
  • General and IT Support to Site Based Teams – bulk photocopying, recording of Minutes, scanning, shredding and conference facilities.
  • Supporting the cascade of all communications to DIO colleagues based in Northern Ireland.
  • Deputy for the Building Custodian and Security Officer.

Employment hours
The post advertised is for 37 hours net, however the Ministry of Defence offers a range of flexibilities to enable a better work-life balance for employees.
