About us and the team :

Market Operations (MO) supports CommSec and IB&M with the processing, settling, confirmation, reconciliation and investigation of inward/outward real time payments and financial markets products.

Within MO, Traded Products Middle Office is responsible for a number of functions that support our Markets and Treasury Businesses. These are: Collateral and Margining, Trade Support, Commodity Operations, OTS Regulatory Operations and Pre-Trade Operations.

The Pre-Trade Operations Team, provides middle office support to Global Markets IB&M by:

  • Enabling the generation of new business revenue by driving the development and implementation of effective streamlined Global Market client onboarding processes and procedures, report management and management of static data processes.
  • Maintaining the integrity of OTC Regulatory reform and Global Markets regulatory standards throughout the end to end Global Markets client onboarding process.
  • Providing other support services to the Global Markets Front Office teams as required.
  • Remaining compliant with internal policy and regulatory obligations.
  • Maintenance and analysis of client data across various product systems
  • Understanding of processes and contributing to the design of optimal automation on processes
  • Focus on risk controls
  • Providing assistance in various projects relating to the client onboarding
  • Understand and analyse business needs in order to continually identify areas for process improvement.

Do work that matters :

Reporting to the Manager Pre-Trade Operations, this role supports IB&M Global Markets front line teams and external clients for pre trade purposes.

The Associate role is responsible for the completion of BAU onboarding, reporting and remediation tasks as allocated, regulatory protocol matching and supporting the Pre Trade Manager in providing support to Global Markets front office teams and external clients. Ability to work across evening shift to support New York operations.

Your Core Responsibilities will include :

  • Maintenance of data across a range of product systems – static data changes encompass client data e.g. static data (client name and address) and non-client static data (portfolio, calendar, rates and currency details).
  • Maintain Standard Settlement information changes across a range of product systems.
  • Complete end to end onboarding tasks, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders across the IB&M Group offices globally to ensure that the clients are correctly set-up in product systems with credit limits established when required, ensuring IB&M meet both internal procedural and global regulatory standards at all times when trading occurs.
  • Accurately establish and maintain Client profiles in compliance with ongoing regulatory and internal procedural standards.
  • You will become a business subject matter expert working in close collaboration with the Global Markets front office and IB&M Compliance teams.
  • Expertise on key/critical Market Operations & Markets Products On-boarding Standard Operating Procedures including client static data management and maintenance.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and documenting procedures for the team.
  • Point of escalation for account set up and activation issues for Financial Market Operations, Risk, OTC Regulation and Legal Documentation teams.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data collected and maintained across bank systems.
  • Contribute to client data quality reporting and scorecards.
  • Support determination of client compliance with OTC Derivative reforms.
  • Assist with Data Enrichment and Management and review & validation of external data.

We are interested in hearing from you if you have :

  • Minimum 3 years corporate banking and investment banking experience.
  • General understanding of end to end client management process flows.
  • Ability to identify any ‘gaps’ in existing processes which may negatively impact stakeholders downstream, providing workable solutions to remedy the process.
  • General knowledge of Global Markets onboarding, including, know your client (KYC), Account Set Up, Settlements Operations and OTC Regulation compliance frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate onboarding and client management issues across the business globally.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as a part of a team.
  • Tertiary Qualification or Equivalent is desirable.
