As well as its blue-chip client base, FIS has individual sales teams focused on complex outsource deal. We have a significant team of expert practitioners, a strong reference base and a client base that is the envy of the industry. Most recently FIS won an end to end IT outsource contract, which includes a full credit risk and fraud BPO service with a major UK retail bank. This role will support the delivery of those ongoing BPO services.

What you will be doing:

The role of this Analytics Manager is to help in the set up and ultimately be a key part of a department of first- and second-line financial crime team by providing analytical and rule writing support, develop strong working relationships with internal and client project & business teams.

The position reports to the Head of Analytics and Quality and is responsible for the analytical and account reconciliation processes within the FIS Birmingham, Watford, Cumbernauld and Nuremberg offices. The position has 7 direct reports across the 4 sites.

Key responsibilities:

  • Internal interfaces between all financial crime management and operational teams. Both level and nature of interface is dependent on the purpose for the contact.

  • External interface with the Client. For example; FTE forecasts that are referred to the Bank may require the Analytics Manager to explain the details of the projection.

  • Internal Interface with FIS Risk & Compliance teams to ensure compliance to all regulatory legislation.

  • Day to day management of the analytics team

  • Forges a close working relationship with members of the team to ensure an efficient and robust business and strategy framework.

  • Bring expertise in credit risk and financial crime analytics, systems and processes to FIS through well-established business networks and strong experience.

  • Attends regular service governance meetings with client to provide updates on resourcing and rule performance

  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with EMEA senior management, sales management, clients, prospects and industry influencers.

  • Produce formal presentations of findings, which are to include firm conclusions and recommended actions.

  • Proactive and effective interaction with other internal groups throughout FIS

  • Shares knowledge with other members of the analytics team

  • Evaluates and improves internal tools and processes

What you bring:

  • BSc Graduate – Maths/Statistics or related subject

  • Ability to utilise Analytical experience gained in an operational role in a route to a senior role

  • Opportunity to work with individuals from across a wide geographic and culturally diverse environment

  • High level of exposure to senior members of staff from within FIS & the client base

  • Experience in managing people within an analytical department or team

  • Experience of applying analytical techniques to large data sets to produce business recommendations

  • Knowledge of data mining software (e.g. SQL Tools, R)

  • Experience in the implementation of risk & fraud strategies and rules within application or transaction monitoring systems.

  • Project Experience

  • Strong knowledge of industry best practice fraud operations processes

  • Forecasting Techniques – modelling changes in VB

  • Impact analysis techniques such as regression

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Use advanced Access, SQL, Excel and VBA skills, to be able to guide and develop techniques within the team

  • Knowledge of risk and fraud strategy systems from vendors such as FICO, Experian, Equifax, IBM etc

  • Experience of making/testing/monitoring rule changes in fraud strategy systems
