Job Description


Dr Martens is currently seeking an Interim Test Manager to join the UK digital team. We need someone with strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well within a team environment is essential. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are vital. Look for team members with excellent problem-solving techniques and the ability to make sound decisions whilst keeping a keen eye on the details. We require self-starters who are able to adapt and learn quickly.



  • Working with a small, empowered cross-functional team to improve testing scope and coverage, refine user stories, prevent, and find defects, and deliver business value
  • Expand coded automation via Java, JavaScript, REST, Cloud tech (preferably AWS) BDD/TDD and functional programming
  • Make a significant contribution to defining, maintaining and improving our testing architecture and implementing best practice across the ecommerce platform
  • Design, build and test systems which are performant and secure
  • Work with regional teams and development partners to define requirements for testing across environments
  • Champion modern development and QA practices and tools, e.g. Continuous Delivery with Jenkins, Source Control with Git, AWS Infrastructure, test-first/fail-fast
  • Writing and executing test cases and acceptance criteria for functional and regression testing
  • Work alongside the business stakeholders, development team and business analysts
  • Understand specifications, requirements and design documentation in order to draw up test scenarios then create test documentation and communicate the status on these effectively with the teams
  • Managing and reporting test results for manual and automated regression tests.
  • Maintaining existing manual test cases and updating them as necessary
  • Able to investigate, analyse and document report defects
  • Support test plans to ensure the application is functionally fit for purpose
  • Able to work alongside business analysts to ensure user stories have test acceptance criteria
  • Able to support test automation activities that are taking place across the business
  • Manage a growing team of QA’s within the department and also interact with QA’s with other departments.

Essential Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum of 3 years as a Test Manager
  • Strong collaboration skills and works well with others
  • Familiarity with eCommerce payment processing systems
  • Proven experience of managing multiple teams/projects
  • Proven experience of leading and managing teams in multiple locations
  • Ability to mentor, coach and develop your team to meet the requirements of the business
  • Proven track record of incorporating overarching QA strategies across projects
