We are looking for an Assistant Garment Technologist to join our Fit team based in London on a 6 Month fixed term contract. it’s a fast paced and diverse role and when we say that two days are never the same, we’re not kidding.

Led by the Q Fit Fashion Senior Technical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Coordinate the fit sessions, fit reviews, and production sample reviews
  • Book the model(s) as requested/required
  • Measure samples, check construction and carry out table evaluations pre fit session
  • Assist in analysing garment construction, workmanship and analysis of pattern from vendor when needed.
  • Prepare samples for best presentation prior to fit or sample review
  • Participate in fit sessions to assist Technical Designer and Garment Technologist
  • Record results on the appropriate forms to be used for fit sessions and report writing.
  • Update and maintain the style library
  • Tracking and shipping of samples.
  • Support the Buying Team with the critical path deadlines and challenges
  • Assist with report writing when necessary.
  • Assist with producing reports on TSV’s and brand reviews
  • Adhere to the seasonal time and action calendars
  • Supporting with the completion of technical design packs
  • Daily communication and interaction with internal and external partners.
  • Presenting and conducting special projects as needed
  • Making decisions to escalate challenges where necessary to avoid delays to the critical path
  • Taking the initiative where necessary, to discuss potential issues with Q-Fit Manager, that may be a threat to the quality of production or a good customer experience
  • Make decision on the length of the fit session needed based on the number of samples

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • An understanding of pattern cutting, garment construction and manufacture is essential
  • Experience of liaising with suppliers
  • High level of computer literacy with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of product management systems/database ie FLEX PLM
  • The ability to work within tight deadlines, within a pressurised environment and with a flexible approach
  • A team player, with the ability to have a positive impact on the effectiveness of the team and be supportive of colleagues
  • Ability to flex within tasks as an when needed by the business.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels both inside and outside of QVC.
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise own workload, work at pace and meet deadlines
  • Ability to identify potential issues providing creative solutions in a timely manner.
