MAG is a leading UK airport group and owns and operates three UK airports - Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands, as well as our MAG USA business based out of Chicago. Our HR department is the heart and soul of the business, supporting c.5000 colleagues within group support functions and airport operations.

The role:

This role is to work within our HR Service Centre, delivering a high-quality HR administration and query resolution service to MAG employees.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service, IT and administration skills and while a HR background is desirable it is not compulsory.

Principle Accountabilities include:


  • Resolve policy/rules-based queries within agreed SLA’s
  • Administer a range of complex and non-complex HR processes to required Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and quality standards
  • Seek advice for complex queries from senior team members/Team Leader
  • Liaise with customers and third parties where appropriate to resolve queries and administer transactions
  • Check the quality and accuracy of own work and the work of peers as required


  • Support the delivery of projects within the teams existing service scope
  • Suggest ideas to update, simplify and enhance processes, procedures and service
  • Recommend updates to the HRSC Knowledge bank and relevant processes as appropriate
  • Keep up to date with any relevant processes and policy changes


  • Perform data input activities to meet require SLA’s and quality standards
  • Produce and validate routine letters, reports and forms using agreed systems and templates
  • Keep up to date with all relevant system and technical developments
  • Utilise appropriate HR systems and data to support query resolution


Suitable applicants will have previous experience in a customer service environment and proven interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise professionally and confidently at all levels. Experience of the following is also desired:

  • Working in HR administration/advisory role in a HR Shared Service environment with knowledge of relevant HR legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, customer facing environment.
  • Ability to use all Microsoft packages including word and excel.
  • Able to check accuracy and quality of own work or others work.
  • Able to organise own workload and proactively highlight any issues to the People Support Team Leader.
  • Ability to keep up to date with system/technical developments impacting the HRSC.
  • A CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential.

Salary and Hours:

Salary of £22,495.00

Monday – Friday (36.25hrs per week)

Flexible/hybrid working (minimum of 1 day in the office)
