LOCATION: London, Cardiff, or remote within UK (Currently all our staff are working at home and can attend offices on an optional basis.)

Are you looking for an entry level role within a busy communications team? Do you have excellent organisation and administration skills and are eager to learn more about communications and engagement?

We are looking for a temporary Communications Assistant to join the Policy Engagement and Communications team at this exciting time. There will be lots of variety in this role, and you will work closely with the team to support with the development of key communications assets. You will play a key role in supporting the development of Elrha's brand and policy narrative to showcase our impact and influence. As well as extending our reach and audience engagement so our research and innovation can make a difference to people in crises settings.

You will be joining an ambitious team at a time of new opportunity within Elrha, as we embark on developing our new strategy. You will work closely with colleagues, writing copy, supporting our external outsourcing of work, and setting up processes to assist with our new ways of working. You will need to be social media proficient, a confident writer, and happy to use your initiative to complete a wide variety of tasks from identifying key influencers or platforms, to analysing communications metrics. You will advocate for diversity, authenticity and accessibility at the heart of all our communications.

You will need to demonstrate the following in your application:

  • Strong communication skills, with excellent verbal and written skills
  • Good familiarity with social media channels and how they are used by different actors
  • A solutions focused approach with the ability to think creatively
  • Ability to work collaboratively and inclusively to build strong and mutually beneficial working relationships
  • A confidence and willingness to take initiative and develop positive solutions

Remote Working

Elrha employees are currently working remotely within the UK in line with UK Government guidance. In early 2022 we will transition to flexible and hybrid ways of working (i.e. a mixture of remote/home and office-based working) as social distancing restrictions ease.

  • a satisfactory police record check to include a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and/or an International Criminal Record Check (If applicable)
  • receipt of satisfactory references
