The Digital Space is a creative learning hub at the London College of Communication where students can access staff expertise and computers with creative software. The Digital Space team specialises in supporting creative software skills and processes, including Adobe Creative Cloud, 3D, post-production, motion graphics & 2D animation, sound editing, design & digital illustration, publication, and digital file preparation for a variety of physical processes.
The Digital Space is an open access space, which means you will work with a diverse range of students from across the Design, Media & Screen Schools at the College.
Drawing upon your extensive knowledge and experience, you will help students develop art and design projects using digital tools & processes, from concept to outcome. You will support student learning in subjects such as graphic design, digital illustration/painting, UI design, as well as supporting them in their use of digital learning platforms and online portfolio development.Why choose us? Your profile
You will have a relevant qualification and/or considerable experience in a relevant industry, and strong knowledge of graphic design & digital illustration and their associated processes and techniques, demonstrated in your existing portfolio of work. You will also have some experience working with digital learning platforms and will be prepared to learn UAL platforms and pass on knowledge and support to students.
You will have some experience in teaching, tutoring, mentoring or demonstration/presentation in some capacity.
Knowledge of related areas such as UX/UI design, layout and design for publication & print, moving image & animation, web design, 3D and post-production is desirable but not essential.
You will be capable of working with technicians and academics in the college to develop and deliver innovative, inclusive teaching to support students of all skill levels and abilities. You will be comfortable researching and experimenting with new technologies, and willing to develop competencies in areas outside of your core expertise with appropriate support. You will be a creative, motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to work effectively as part of a team.
