The Manufacturing Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and specify, install, commission, and validate manufacturing equipment to meet production demands and to liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time. This role will also require the production of validation documents to meet regulatory requirements and to identify and implement improvements to manufacturing issues.
What You’ll Do:
  • Engineering responsibility for equipment and improvement projects.
  • Plan and execute approved projects for both existing and emerging technology to agreed specifications and targets (cost, time, and performance) either by leadership of work packages or contributing as a team member.
  • Provide technical support for the Quality Engineer.
  • Provide technical and user requirement specifications for new equipment required on site at Peli BioThermal.
  • Execute validation activities on site at Peli BioThermal, supplier premises and third-party manufacturing facilities.
  • Identify areas of continuous improvement in the production processes and techniques for ongoing cost effectiveness.
  • Use a sound, evidence-based approach to problem solving and quality enhancement.
  • Participate and contribute to all New Product development activities where appropriate.
  • Ensure that statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers against specification and manage those suppliers through to project completion.
  • Communicate project status to the project managers, sponsors, and customers as appropriate.
  • Responsible for documentation from specification to production handover, and ensure it meets all relevant requirements.
  • Ensure that training and handover procedures are completed to user satisfaction.
  • Provide process expertise / support for manufacturing equipment and processes employed.
  • Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (Manufacturing preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment delivering product or equipment to production.
  • Specialized advanced knowledge or experience of validation processes for equipment.
  • Project Management experience and qualification
  • Experience of managing project costings.
  • Hands on mechanical aptitude essential
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to executive non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
