Marketing Apprentice

Reports to: Marketing Delivery Senior Manager

Location: Stratford, London (with flexible working offered e.g. working in the office 1-2 days a week and from home the rest of the time if desired)

Contract: 18 months, Full time (with 20% protected learning time to prepare for and meet apprenticeship standard requirements)

Salary: £22,950

Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest charity dedicated to beating all types of cancer. We now have four opportunities for you to join us in within our Digital Marketing & Delivery team to deliver best in class marketing campaigns across our Audience and Product portfolio.

Why we need you

We’re seeking an innovative thinker with good organisational skills and a strong attention to detail to join us on an 18-month apprenticeship. You’ll be able to apply basic marketing principles and be interested in the latest trends and developments in both digital and traditional marketing channels.

What will I be doing?

Make an impact everyday by:

  • Proactively use the apprenticeship programme to develop a broad marketing skill set and a working knowledge of marketing concepts and theories, commercial awareness, market research techniques and product and channels.
  • Apply a variety of marketing training with an emphasis on digital marketing to the charity’s marketing campaigns
  • Proactively use the charity’s learning and development programme to develop desired core marketing and growth behaviours
  • Work collaboratively with other Digital Marketing & Delivery teams to support the delivery of data and digital campaign set-up requirements and execute cross-channel activity efficiently and effectively.
  • Support the delivery of pre-launch test and learn initiatives, analysing and sharing results and supporting the optimisation of activity based on findings.
  • Support in-campaign and post-campaign analysis, preparing reports and supporting the implementation of optimisation initiatives to improve live activity.
  • Creating and implementing web design.

Whilst undertaking periods of protected learning (20% of time) to prepare for and meet apprenticeship standard requirements and end point assessment. You will take part in interactive workshops, be required to carry out independent research and eLearning activities with the support of a tutor and a mentor, as well as your dedicated manager. At the end of the Apprenticeship, you will gain an accredited marketing qualification as well as 18 months of valuable work experience.

What skills are we looking for?

  • Demonstrates curiosity and a growth mindset.
  • Understands and can apply basic marketing principles and the customer lifecycle.
  • Interest in digital marketing and the latest trends and developments.
  • Proactive with the ability to take initiative and experience of going above and beyond to innovate and improve.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Stage 2: Audio Submission

If you are successful in the previous stage, you will be asked to complete an audio submission, answering competency-based questions. The questions will be emailed to you and you will have a few days to submit a response via an audio recording (no video required).

Stage 3 : Final Interviews

If you are successful in the previous stage, you will then be invited to a face-to-face interview at our head office or online via Teams, with representatives from the team you are applying to.
