Job Description

The Web Designer will design and implement websites for a large and varied client base covering B2B and B2C websites. You will combine your strong CSS, HTML, UI and UX skills to create pixel-perfect and highly usable, fully responsive websites and emails.

You will be working closely with the dev team to turn your designs into fully functioning projects that will be viewed and used by millions of users each year. Attention to detail and design are a must.

We will offer you training in our own bespoke platform and also in other mainstream technologies to continually enhance your development. We don’t expect you to be a master of every technology and language, but the willingness to learn new skills is key!

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • Design frontend code using HTML5/CSS/jQuery for use on the business’ external facing eCommerce websites.
  • Design and build of responsive email marketing solutions
  • Create dynamic, visually striking interfaces and banners to meet brand guidelines
  • Work closely with the sales team to keep the site’s content up to date
  • Work with existing and new technologies to develop and maintain market share

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • 2+ years Web Design experience within a B2B or B2C company
  • Experience of building specific mobile first designs websites
  • Experience of fully responsive email marketing campaigns
  • A flair for design and design experience in an E-Commerce
  • Wordpress Backend and Frontend setups and maintenance experience
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or can prove 5 years + like for like experience
  • Understanding of Ecommerce in terms of what makes good and bad ecommerce
  • Experience of multi brand marketing campaigns within a fast moving environment
  • Creative approach to new campaigns
  • Understanding of Social Networking would be useful
  • Experience managing email campaigns and tracking is advantageous
  • Google Analytics / TagManager knowledge is desirable
  • Good understanding of HTML/HTML5 (hand coding essential)
  • Good understanding of CSS/CSS3
  • SEO optimisation techniques
  • Fluent with the Adobe Suite (predominately Photoshop & Illustrator)
  • Using browser based live editing tools (chrome dev tools etc)
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Knowledge/experience working with jQuery/javascript is desirable
  • Any knowledge of PHP/ASP/Magento will be advantageous but not a requirement
  • Use of version control software such as VSO / GIT
  • Experience using Bootstrap framework (v4+)
  • Understanding of Google AdWords is advantageous
