This position is part of Novanta's Laser Quantum business. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a link between the Electronics Development team and Manufacturing, mainly working on building test systems, collecting kits and performing small CAD tasks as necessary.
Building and testing of prototype electronics.
Support testing and diagnosing electronics issues on production systems.
Product level Design Verification Testing and extended testing of brand new and modified electronics and the associated firmware.
Working with Electronics Development to create and implement a standardized testing regime for new laser controllers and electronics.
Supporting electronics conformity requirements to the relevant standards.
Working with the Product Engineering Manager to support electronics related issue resolution for field failures and in-build problems.
If required for an NPI project, to support electronic requirements such as wiring of chassis and performing PCB mods
Strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations.
Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.
Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering is required.
Experience of electronics testing in a high tech industry.
Understanding of lasers or similar technologies is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills.
Proven team worker with a strong collaborative approach.
Proactive nature with the ability to motivate others.
Ability to manage work with limited supervision.
Must be flexible and adaptable to a changing environment.
Good organizational skills.
Demonstrates good interpersonal skills.
