What you will be doing

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiate/conduct needs analysis to assess the requirement(s) for a training solution
  • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gain in-depth understanding of the content and knowledge to be transferred to the targeted audience
  • Develop learning objectives and outcomes appropriate to the targeted audience
  • Determine and recommend best delivery method and appropriate training solution to support the business strategies and needs
  • Develop engaging training materials in various formats such as e-modules (using Articulate Storyline), instructor-led, webinars and blended learning to meet business needs and in alignment with best practices and training trends ensuring to maximize engagement and learning retention
  • Create tests and assessments to validate/certify knowledge of learning content
  • Create training program evaluations and monitors effectiveness of training and based on data collected, generate ideas for improvement and/or remediation if applicable
  • Design, create and implement all training materials needed for specified training programs which includes the facilitators guides, participant workbooks, quick reference guides, quizzes, pre-work & post-work, tests, etc.
  • Working collaboratively with the business team and/or Subject Matter Expert, act as project manager for the course development to ensure timelines are met
  • Schedule periodic course reviews and any updates needed; schedule the expiration of training courses, if appropriate
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development
  • Stay abreast of the latest tools, techniques and technology to provide cutting-edge training that meets adult learning principles and the enterprise’s objectives
  • Provide advice about emerging trends, research-based approaches and quality standards for the development and delivery of courses designed to encourage active student learning, participation and overall engagement
  • Deliver live training sessions and webinars and continuously improves the methods for delivery of training, as required
  • Embrace the company values and mission while focusing on the Learning & Performance department’s goals and objectives
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

What your background should look like

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • College diploma or University degree in a related field such as business administration, HR, learning or similar vocations
  • 3-5 years of related experience in instructional design or in a learning role
  • Completion of adult education training or certification in instructional design, adult learning principles or relevant training field an asset
  • 1+ year of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or with biologics & specialty medications an asset

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge and experience to effectively develop learning materials reflecting adult learning principles
  • Very technically savvy to learn new programs and e-learning authoring tools quickly
  • Bilingual in French and English in a corporate work environment an asset
  • Excellent proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications
  • Advanced Power Point skills required
  • Proficiency with Articulate Storyline an asset
  • Make decisions effectively and takes initiative with minimal direction
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective organizational skills; excellent attention to detail
  • Familiarity with training content structure and design
  • Strong ability to consistently meet deadlines and prioritize projects
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Excellent presentation skills
