Rolls-Royce has got an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Derby.
The successful candidate will join the Precision Machining Facility (PMF) Manufacturing Engineering CI / NPI Parts team and will be responsible for the method development and validation activities on their part(s) within the facility. The PMF is a high-volume machining facility, manufacturing a wide variety of single crystal turbine blades. As well as significant rate increases, the PMF is undergoing significant change in terms of investment in new equipment, acquisition of new capabilities and increasing our flexibility.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated and have technical responsibility for production support of their part as well as Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery (SQCD) improvements associated with their part(s) and the wider facility. This can include yield improvement activities on the Drive to Zero Defects (DZD), validation of new tooling for business continuity and rate purposes, PPAP and support to the Operations teams on the shop floor. Where required, you will act as Product Introduction (PI) Component Lead, integrating the manufacturing engineering activities across the complete value stream as the primary Manufacturing Engineering representative within the core IPT for their owned part(s). Work in line with the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and implement the Production Product Approval Process (PPAP) for all applicable projects.
The PMF has several high-profile parts and therefore the success of the CI / NPI Parts Team has a direct impact on the PMF business performance and Rolls-Royce. This Manufacturing Engineering role will provide an excellent development opportunity for the successful candidate with high visibility and the potential for progression.
