We have a brand new opening for an experienced Audio Electronics technician/engineer to join our growing repairs team here at Gear4music. As the business evolves, so does the demand for specialist repair work across our product offering, particularly on the Audio/Electronics side. We are looking for a commercially minded, passionate professional to assist in developing this area of our business further as we continue to grow internationally!


Responsibilities:


  • Working within a small team of repairs professionals
  • Repairing instruments, including but not limited to the following:


Electrical:
Soldering to a very high standard, changing and testing valves and replacing fuses

Assessing: Returned Units and Fault Finding

Repairing: Of products to a high standard to component level where applicable

Liaising: With colleagues to gather further information

Maintaining: Repair centre facilities and equipment


  • Identifying faults on PCBs and Power supplies
  • Ability to read circuit diagrams
  • Repairing own brand and OEM product with either a spare part or components
  • Assisting Team Leader and Management with repairs stock and processing jobs efficiently
  • Ability to fault find and repair down to component level where necessary

  • Soldering to a high standard
  • Be comfortable and be highly competent with repair tools
  • Work within Health and Safety guidelines
  • Able to read and understand schematic diagrams
  • Capable of Installation of new electronic components (thru hole and surface mount)


This position is for an experienced Audio Electronics repairs technician or engineer and is not meant as an “entry level” position for persons with no related experience looking to get into the field of Audio Electrical instrument fault finding/repair/inspection. Extensive, working knowledge of, and experience with Electronic Audio equipment and instruments is a must.
